The great thing about our inner images is that they are limitless and free. And they are 80% faster than our rational thinking, thanks to the evolutionary wiring of our reptilian brain and our limbic system. In other words, our limbic language consists of images and metaphors! That's why I’ve created an experiment in 7 scenarios to guide you into your inner power.
These seven spaces will serve you as a mental retreat and source of energy, depending on your needs at the moment. This approach stems from a self-hypnosis technique I like to use with my clients sometimes. They like it, too!
For each topic, let your inner space emerge in your imagination, and ideally take notes of your inner set-up. ✏️📙
- What's the floor plan?
- How are the walls designed?
- Which colors are predominant?
- How is the light - what windows are there?
- What furniture is it equipped with?
- How does the ground feel under your feet?
- What scent do you perceive?

I would love to hear from you!
Especially in the evening before going to sleep, when my head is buzzing with thoughts and reflections, my inner space of silence helps me. In my mind I enter it and take it in with all senses. I consciously breathe into my stomach and enjoy the calm atmosphere that quiets my thoughts and lets my body slowly relax.
This is my idea of how the room could look like:
It's all white and organically shaped like one of the typical houses on the Greek island Santorini. There is a tiny little window under the ceiling, through which bright sunshine falls and gently illuminates the room. It has a blue lounger with a light-blue curtain that closes gently and semi-transparently around it. Deep blue stone tiles on the floor, cool and clean. A pleasant scent of lavender.

Let your space emerge...
When you feel limp and without energy - or just uncomfortable, take a "power position", standing firmly on the ground with your arms up in the air, with full body tension. Put a smile on your face, even a fake one will do. Within just a couple of minutes, you may feel more energised (thanks to hormone stimulation). Then enter your room of energy and picture yourself working out, like on a huge cinema screen...
This is how I personally imagine the room of energy:
A space like a big tent, red, orange, yellow predominate. Rings and a rope hang from the ceiling, on which you can smoothly perform exercises in the air. There is also a throne as a symbol of your strength in the sense of assertiveness, just in case. Your power is present both physically and mentally through a radiant glow.

Let your space emerge...
Whenever I'm sitting in front of an empty screen and my ideas don't want to come, I pay a visit to my inner creativity room to get in the mood. Opening up to my inner space helps me to align with the changes I want to make in the world around me...
This is my vision of the creative space:
An airy, light-flooded room, bordered by cloths in rainbow colors on one side, a huge window with a view of the wide open country to the horizon on the other side. The sky is the limit. All kinds of art supplies are available on tables, canvases, paints, even technical gadgets such as kaleidoscopes and cameras. A fresh citrus-like scent wafts through the room. Light wind, dynamism, movement prevail. Just go and do it!

Let your space emerge...
We tend to see problems rather than solutions. That's how we are hard-wired by our survival instincts. But we can train to focus on solutions more. That's why this inner space is truly powerful...
Let me show you around in my version:
A semicircular room with a huge panorama window that opens across the entire width to the horizon. At the same time a planetarium with a gigantic telescope that allows to look into infinite distances. But there is also a table with a microscope and a magnifying glass to explore solutions that are so obvious that you might oversee them. At the entrance a red threshold, almost a stumbling block, that cannot be overlooked. The step into the space of solutions is a conscious one. The back wall is adorned with a huge library with many rarities. Leather and warm wood tones predominate. A reading chair invites you to linger and think.

Let your space emerge...
Our mental and our physical condition impact each other greatly in a mutual way, even more so when our health is suffering. You can support the healing process by consciously observing the thoughts on your mind while taking good care of the needs of your body.
For your enhanced wellbeing, picture this:
A garden, wild blooming nature all around. A strong scent of essential oils that have a healing and cleansing effect. Mint, camphor, lemon balm, also verbena. A warm, steaming air that is good for the bronchi and lungs. You can feel the moisture from the outside and inside as if in a soothing spa. Just breathe. In and out...

Let your space emerge...
It takes time to let go. It's a process we tend to underestimate, and yet we have to undergo different stages of it, if we like it or not. It can be helpful to allow for another dimension by creating space.
Here is mine...
A room divided in two parts. The room of mourning and letting go is lined with blue velvet. In the middle is a table, almost like an altar. Whatever needs to be let go is laid out here. There is space around it. Enough space for deep feelings, for sadness and grief, but also love and appreciation. Beyond the velvet curtain is a spacious semicircle with large windows and an inviting parquet floor. Here you can celebrate - overcome obstacles, crossed thresholds, new beginnings, achievements. Celebrations with allies who come together here to celebrate your step into new territory.

Let your space emerge...
Regardless how successful, confident and self-assured we may appear on the outside, most of us know how it is to experience the exact opposite at times, crumbling inside and feeling small and useless all of the sudden. Confidence is something we can strengthen and train from within so we are prepared for strong headwinds, and recover faster from set-backs.
Welcome to my personal place of confidence...
Behind a man-high wall with a little wooden door is the lush green lawn with two deck chairs that look out over the bay. This is my paradise. I feel protected and full of energy, the sun is gently warming me. I wrap a blue cloak of confidence around my shoulders before I sit comfortably on one of the chairs. I feel absolutely safe, loved and deeply at peace here in my chair. There is no time, there is no goal, just NOW.
